Back in 2001 Joe McNally did a shoot for National Geographic for a project called 'The Power of Light'. He made an interesting choice of subject—the light bulb at the top of the Empire State Building in New York.

Joe and his team did three attempts at the shot before they got it. It is an awesome shot, just goes to show that you should never give up if you have a brilliant idea you would like to realize.
