Today I was sitting at the office and doing some mundane paper work, when I suddenly heard a really deep bass hum, you know the kind that makes you stop what your doing and listen, and ask your self, What the fu..! is that?!, I soon got my answer.
You see, the airport is not far from my office, so I'm quite used to hearing choppers and planes passing by, but I've not heard much of this sound before, maybe once or twice many years ago. But I started to recognise the sound.
And there it was, a big Orion from the Royal Norwegian Air Force glided in to something that looked like a landing. I shouted to my college what I was seeing, let's say you wouldn't ask him twice to get in the car. We grabbed our camera bags and ran really fast, well, fast for 40 year olds that is.
Rushed to the airport, but disappointment hit when we learned that there was no Orion there, they just did a fly-over, bummer!
While we where there we did shoot some pictures, nothing special, but I'll post some here. Processed in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3.
Images captured with a D3 and AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens. Written to SanDisk Extreme IV Ducati Edition compact flash card.
